NICK GIFFORD

I’ve started Yacht Electrics as I believe that there is a need from owners of various boat sizes for high quality professional electrical and electronics installation and technical support.

I am a chartered electrical engineer who has worked in the development, application and installation of electrical and electronic products within the Aerospace industry for 25 years in a variety of companies both large and small. This has provided me with a wealth of knowledge about how electrical and electronic equipment performs in harsh environments as well as what can go wrong and why some systems interfere with others. This knowledge is particularly relevant to the marine environment.

I originally qualified from the University of Southampton with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and over the years I have progressed to become a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) – formerly the Institute of Electrical Engineers.

My main hobby is sailing and maintaining cruising yachts with my wife and three children.
